Heidi Klum Actress and Model

Heidi Klum Actress and Model
Heidi Klum (German pronunciation born June 1, 1973) is a German model, actress, television host, business woman, fashion designer, television producer, artist, and occasional singer. She is married to singer Seal. Klum was the Emmy Award-nominated hostess of Project Runway and Germany's Next Topmodel, and is a Victoria's Secret Angel.

Klum married stylist Ric Pipino in 1997; the couple divorced in 2002. Following the divorce, she had brief relationships with Red Hot Chili Peppers lead singer Anthony Kiedis and Formula-1 mogul Flavio Briatore. In the autumn of 2003, Klum announced she was pregnant with Briatore's child. On the day she announced the pregnancy, Briatore was photographed kissing Fiona Swarovski, a jewelry heiress. Klum and Briatore split shortly thereafter. Klum gave birth to Helene (Leni) Boshoven Klum on May 4, 2004 in New York City, New York.

In early 2004, while still pregnant, Klum began a relationship with musician Seal. Klum and Seal married on May 10, 2005, on a beach in Mexico. They have two children together so far, both boys, Henry Günther Ademola Dashtu Samuel, born September 12, 2005 in Los Angeles, California and Johan Riley Fyodor Taiwo Samuel born November 22, 2006 in Los Angeles. They are expecting another child together, a girl in the fall of 2009. According to Klum, Flavio Briatore is not involved in Leni's life, and she has stated emphatically that "Seal is Leni's father."

On hearing her family referred to as a "patchwork family", Klum said, "I'm not white, I'm a shade of brown," and added, "we're all different shades and we came together and we all love each other...it's actually kind of nice to have a 'patchwork family'." In 2008, Klum became a naturalized American citizen. In 2008, Klum dressed as the Hindu goddess Kālī for a Halloween party. She was not aware that goddess Kali killed only the unjust, and not just anyone. In Hindu religion, goddess Kali is considered one of the first feminist goddess ideas as she fought over injustices done to women. Klum's act upset many Hindus all around the world, and as a result, many Hindus (and some non-Hindus) all around the world vowed not to be a part of any product endorsed by Klum.

Klum and Seal renewed their wedding vows at a "White Trash" themed party at a friend's beach house in Malibu on Saturday (May 9), 2009. With nearly one hundred friends and family members in attendance she kissed with wigged "Kiss From a Rose" singing hubby with a an Elvis Presley lookalike preacher presiding over the ceremony. According to a source on the scene, the group then listened to 60's Rock n' Roll as they partied the night away - with stars such as Debra Messing enjoying the fun-filled festivities. Klum and Seal first planned for the wedding vow renewals to take place in Mexico - but opted to move the event to the States due to the current swine flu problems.

Lindsay Lohan Actress and Model

Lindsay Lohan Actress and Model
Lindsay Dee Lohan (born July 2, 1986) is an American actress, model, and pop singer. Lohan started in show business as a child fashion model for magazine advertisement and television commercials. At age 10, she began her acting career in the soap opera Another World; at 11, she made her motion picture debut by playing identical twins in Disney's 1998 remake of The Parent Trap.

Lohan rose to stardom with her leading roles in the films Freaky Friday, Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen, Mean Girls and Herbie: Fully Loaded. Her subsequent roles include appearances in A Prairie Home Companion and Bobby. In 2004, Lohan launched a second career in pop music yielding the albums Speak (2004) and A Little More Personal (Raw) (2005). Lohan's personal life has been a frequent subject of celebrity and tabloid journalism.

Lohan began dating singer Aaron Carter in 2001. It was reported that Carter left Hilary Duff for Lohan, but soon broke up with Lohan and resumed dating Duff. On March 23, 2007, Claymation facsimiles of Lohan and Duff appeared on the celebrity wrestling series Celebrity Death Match episode "Where's Lohan?". Duff and Lohan were later reported to have been involved in a feud with each other over their relationship with Carter. In 2007, Duff and Lohan had reconciled. Lohan attended the release party for Duff's album Dignity and Duff told People magazine that she thought Lohan was "fun" and "a nice girl".

Lohan started dating Wilmer Valderrama in 2003, though the couple were not seen together until May 2004 and didn't go public with their romance until Lohan's 18th birthday bash at the Hollywood nightclub Avalon two months later; the couple broke up in late 2004. Lohan has also dated Pink Taco restaurant owner Harry Morton and British TV personality Calum Best. While seeking treatment at the Cirque Lodge in Utah, Lohan met and began dating Riley Giles; however, in late November 2007, it was announced that they had split up. Lohan's mother, Dina Lohan said, "[Riley] took desperate measures to hurt Lindsay because she broke up with him".

In 2008, several media outlets began commenting on Lohan and Samantha Ronson, who were regularly seen being affectionate in public. In July 2008, several newspapers, including The Times and Los Angeles Times, published opinion pieces describing their relationship as romantic. Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, has been very outspoken in his disapproval of Lohan's relationship with Samantha Ronson, and on September 24, 2008, Lohan wrote a response to him via e-mail to the New York Post: "Samantha is not evil, I care for her very much and she's a wonderful girl ... She loves me, as I do her." Lohan opened up about her relationship with Ronson in the December 2008 issue of Harper's Bazaar magazine. She stated, "I think it's pretty obvious who I'm seeing ... I think it's no shock to anyone that it's been going on for quite some time ... She's a wonderful person and I love her very much." While speaking about her sexual orientation, Lohan said she was not a lesbian, but when asked if she was bisexual, she responded "Maybe. Yeah." She then added, "I don't want to classify myself." Lohan said her family, with the exception of her father Michael, had been supportive of her relationship with Ronson. The couple broke up in early April 2009. Lohan was interviewed about the break up in Us Weekly.

The Correct Foundation Garments to Wear Under Your Vintage Dresses #2

Dear readers - I am feeling rather blah with a nasty head cold. This week, I will be republishing one of my most popular series regarding the correct foundation garments to wear with vintage dresses. This series still gets hits on a weekly basis, so I thought it would be useful to publish it again.

Continuing the series on the correct foundation garments, today we have two party dresses from 1958. The focus on today's spread is the tiny waist needed with fuller skirts. "Take a look at the luscious, jewel-toned dresses. See how their sculptured bodices and dome-shaped skirts show off your middle? They call, obviously, for a trim mid-section of your own."

The green satin dress on the left is a "princess sculptured" dress with self-fabric roses at the neckline and hem by Parklane, which was offered at Franklin Simon, New York and Jordan Marsh, Boston. The dress sold for about $30 in 1958 ($225 today).

Under the green dress, the model is wearing a Formaid of Boston torso bra that molds from bosom to hips. With that, she wears a Saramac petticoat. Note that the petticoat has a flat panel from waist to hips and the long-line bra is worn over it.

The blue jacquard dress on the right has a "closely carved bodice and dome skirt that opens in a back pleat". This dress is by Carol Rodgers and sold for about $13 in 1958 ($97 today). The skirt of this dress likely has the stiff Pellon interfacing, as the model is not wearing a crinoline under it.

Under the blue dress, the model is wearing a Sarong Two nylon girdle that trims the waist with a high elastic waistband. Crisscross front with open bottom gives walking ease. Power net sides and satin elastic back. She is also wearing a Perma-lift strapless cotton contour bra.

William Rast show ft. Justin Timberlake at Selfridges

Hello,

Tonight I was off to see the show of fashion label 'William Rast', the brainchild of Justin Timberlake and friend Trace Ayala, which is being sold at Selfridges where the show was held.

The womenswear collection is tomboyish with a touch of femininity. The collection uses men’s tailoring and body conscious silhouettes to flatter the female form with a focus on leather jackets, printed silk tops and immaculately fitted denims.

My friend Susan invited me to this event. A hot summer evening it was, so we enjoyed our cocktails!

What?

The Correct Foundation Garments to Wear Under Your Vintage Dresses #1

Dear readers - I am feeling rather blah with a nasty head cold. This week, I will be republishing one of my most popular series regarding the correct foundation garments to wear with vintage dresses. This series still gets hits on a weekly basis, so I thought it would be useful to publish it again.

If you've ever purchased a vintage dress and wondered why it doesn't fit correctly, maybe you're not wearing the proper foundation garments. Prior to the late 1960's, clothing was styled and cut with the understanding that women would be wearing girdles and shapers underneath. In the October 1958 Seventeen magazine, there is a wonderful editorial spread photographed by Francesco Scavullo that illustrates what type of foundation garments work best with several dress styles. I'll be featuring the photos and information from this spread this week.

The magazine is referring to these as "shaft dresses" (never heard that term before). "Newest shape for a shaft to take - the high-rise Empire waist, which looks prettiest over a softly rounded bosom, asks just supple control from there down."

The red dress is by Lanz in a lined rayon crepe. See that band across the bust? The magazine calls this a "bosom yoke" and it drops to a V-neck with a bow in the back. The dress sold for $40 in 1958 (about $298 today). The model is wearing red DeLiso Debs shoes.

Under the red dress, the model is wearing a Formfit nylon bra with circle-stitched lace cups and a Formfit nylon elastic net panty girdle with a wide waistband and satin elastic vertical stretch panels front and back.

The model on the right in the top photo is wearing a blue wool jersey "shaft dress" by Jerry Greenwald. The front is gathered into a satin band at the Empire waist. In back, the dress is slit from V neckline to hem, revealing a satin underslip. This dress also sold for about $40 and was available at Saks Fifth Avenue. That's a long, skinny brooch by Castlecliff pinned to the center of the satin band and the shoes are by Capezio.

Under the blue dress, the model is wearing a Lovable "lightweight all-in-one for a long, slim line with easy control." Made of Helance nylon yarn with embroidered cotton broadcloth cups. This appears to be an open-bottom style.

Fingers on Fire - part 1 - DIY a la Balmain !

Hello,

Hey guys, thank you so much to all the new visitors and especially new followers to the blog. Hope you all enjoy it.

So here it is part 1 of my DIY posts... I must say this is just a little teaser of what is about to come, watch this space, I am finalizing my experiments and soon as it's all finished (and hopefully, all good) I will be posting here.

DIY+studs+balmain

DIY+studs+balmain

The inspiration was Balmain...

And this was a quick transformation to the back of the top. The top has elasticated straps and therefore they naturally twisted, I made an adjustment to that and applied the studs onto it.

BEFOREBEFOREAFTERDIY+studs+balmainAFTER

I kept simple on the front, just added a few studs.

BEFOREBEFOREAFTER AFTER

I think it turned out quite cute!

What do you guys think? Leave me a comment!
