La la la lovely Linda
Linda McCartney: (September 24, 1941-April 17, 1998) born Linda Eastman in Scarsdale, New York. She was a prominent photographer in the 60s and an advocate of vegetarianism and animal rights. She photographed many of the decade's most famous musicians. However, the photographer became the subject as Linda snagged the last remaining bachelor among the Fab Four, Paul McCartney. They first met at the Bag o' Nails in London, while Linda was on a photographic assignment. She was taking pictures for a book called Rock and Other Four-Letter Words. On March 12, 1969, the couple married in an understated wedding at the Marylebone Office. Paul adopted Linda's daughter Heather, and they had three children: Mary, Stella , and James. In the 70s, she joined her husband on the road and performed in his band Wings, as a keyboard player and vocalist. McCartney was more successful outside of music, earning respect as a high-profile force for animal rights; a staunch vegetarian, she published a series of best-selling cookbooks (1989's Home Cooking and 1995's Linda's Kitchen among them) and also created her own highly profitable line of frozen vegetarian meals. Sadly, In 1995, McCartney was diagnosed with breast cancer, and on April 17, 1998 the disease took her life at the age of 56.
