I had never heard of the Italian Couture label Carosa until I found this image from September 1969. Princess Giovanna Caracciolo Ginetti began her couture house in 1947. While Ginetti did not know how to sew, she did know how to dress. Over the years, she hired some of Italy's best designers to work for her, including Patrick de Barantzen, Pino Lancetti, and Angelo Tarlazzi. The Carosa house closed in 1974, due to the rise of ready-to-wear fashions. Princess Ginetti died in 1983. The two maxi coats shown are a wild combination of chunky wool yarns that are knitted, crocheted, braided, and fringed. I want, I want, I want.
