The Swinging City
In April 1966, a Time Magazine correspondent Piri Halasz published an article celebrating contemporary London. In an excerpt from the article: "In a decade dominated by youth, London has burst into bloom. It swings; it is the scene...The city is alive with birds (girls) and 'beatles', buzzing with mini cars and telly stars, pulsing with half a dozen veins of excitement."
The fashion scene in London was centered around Chelsea's Kings Road, until Biba opened in Kensington.
