Joset Walker - American Sportswear Designer


You may have heard of 1940's and 50's American sportswear designers Claire McCardell, Carolyn Schnurer, and Tina Leser, but how about Joset Walker? Born in France, Walker began her career designing for Broadway and for RKO studios in Hollywood. In the 1940's, Walker specialized in sports clothes for outdoor activities, swimwear, and casual dresses. Shown above, a 1949 marigold linen dress, belted in gold leather.

Tina Aumont: Maria Christina Aumont, best known as Tina Aumont (14 February 1946 – 28 October 2006) was an American actress of French, and Dominican descent.
She was born in Hollywood, California, the daughter of actors Jean-Pierre Aumont and Maria Montez. She married actor and film director Christian Marquand in 1963, at the age of 17. An actress of the 1960s and 1970s who appeared mainly in international films. After making her big screen debut in the movie "Modestry Blaise" in 1966, she had notable performances in the films "Texas Across the River", (1966) with Dean Martin, "A Matter of Time", (1976) with Ingrid Bergman and "Holocaust II", (1980).
